It's time to take control of my body.

Ever since Dr. Graham brought a yoga teacher to class one day, yoga's been on my mind.
I have been going to some free classes at It's Yoga in Riverwoods. But the free classes are over, and it's too expensive to buy a membership right now.

The cheapest and easiest alternative?
That would be a $10 yoga mat and Ms. Jillian Michaels as my personal trainer (also $10).
The dvd claims I can lose up to 5 pounds in one week.
Sorry, Jillian. I'm just a little skeptical.
So here's my plan to start off:

5 workouts a week for 6 weeks.
15 pounds.

Half the pounds seems doable, doesn't it?
Ok, so maybe 10.
Let us hope.

He loves the camera.
P.S. I don't get out of my pajamas until about 11 when I watch him.
Don't judge.

My roommate, Beth, is the best church buddy.
We laugh about the ridiculous things people say behind and not behind the pulpit.
We also could not make it three hours without our snacks.
The Marb vending machines have the best food!
She recently tore her MCL and has had to wear a brace,
and we count how many people ask her how her knee is in a three hour period of time.
I think today was at least five.
Find a new question, people!

Even though I was only out of Provo for 24 hours, it was totally worth it.
There was only time to walk down the trail to The Narrows before it started raining and got dark.
It was still pretty though!

I had to carry this to north campus all the way from my apartment this morning.
It looks light, but believe me, my friend, it is not.
Upside: this means I'm going camping tomorrow in Zion with my studio class!
I'm ready to do some painting and reflecting.
And I love the people I'm going down with, too.
Ok, so it was worth the haul.

I went to the BYU Luau today with Meggie Fresh and the Morgan Freemans. We got icky seats in the back, so this is the clearest picture I could get.
I was really impressed with how awesome each dance was.
Can I go to New Zealand now?

For some reason I always feel awkward if I get stuck on campus when they lower the flag for the day.
Loud music plays, and people glare at you if you don't stop.

I know I should be honoring our country by feeling patriotic, but really, how can I when people like this cuddle and bond over the recorded music and setting sun?

The new Pampers Pirate? Arrrrrr.

Sundays are hard to take pictures of. I feel weird taking pictures at church, then what do I do afterwards? Take a nap, that's what. Or something equally non-picture worthy.
So here you go: a picture of my sister and brother-in-law, in all their glory.
But really, they're awesome. They let me lay on the bed with them at strange hours of the night and talk.
Ok, so maybe it's at 10pm, but hey, that's late for old people! ;-)

Megan and I gave in and bought a box of Samoas.
Sorry, Tammy! I thought I was strong enough...

This is what happens when BYU has an away game during the day in the middle of March.
Mind you, this is in the middle of a huge high-traffic area in the middle of the book store on campus.
Middle middle middle.
People in my way = Hulk Kellie!

I walked into class today and saw that our classroom had been turned into a giant pinhole camera by another class. Another reason why I love my major...

Sitting in an empty classroom creeps me out. The chairs are going to gang up on me!

We went to the MOA to paint landscapes in class today.
I am not the best oil painter, but this was fun.
This is the base coat. Maybe I'll post the finished product.

I'm spending the night at Mo and Ken's tonight to watch Charlie tomorrow.
After dinner, Mo tried to feed Charlie real food, but he was passive-aggressively smiling at Ash and locking his mouth so she couldn't get any food in. He sat staring at Ash for like 10 minutes before Mo got any food in.

Sadly, this is the best picture I took all day, even though I did a lot of things.
Although I didn't really feel like doing anything, I forced myself to get out of the house. I ended up having a really good time.
Breakfast at Kneader's with LeeAnn and Alyssa, a Target run (resulting in a hot consolation dress), free yoga with Amyer, New Moon with the Merris', and game night afterwards.

But the best part of the day?
Hands down a letter from Matt.

This week has been hard, but I am grateful for many friends who have stepped up and made sure I have stayed busy.

I slept over at Mo and Ken's last night so I could watch this little guy today.
I can't even handle his cuteness.

I have recently realized how beautiful Utah Valley's mountains are.
I was feeling kind of blue today while walking to class, and seeing the sun shine over the mountains helped cheer me up a little bit.
Thank goodness for sunshine.
Thank goodness for skies.

Matt is getting set apart as I write this. He is so excited and ready to leave, and I'm really proud of him. His family had me up for dinner, and we went to say goodbye to some friends.
Even though I'm happy for him, this is really hard for me.
But this is about him, so I'm trying to be positive.
But can I cry today?

Gas stop somewhere in between St. George and Provo. What a trip.

On a whim, me, Matt, Megan, Chelsea and Jeremiah decided to drive back to our old place of work, Jacob Lake.
We all worked there the summer of 2008, and hated it. But we made a ton of friends that we still hang out with today. We had no idea how much snow is up there in the winter! That's the girls dorm on the right, where 30 girls stayed in rows of bunk beds.
Oh, Jacob Lake. If you ever think of working there, think again!!!

Sadly, this is the best picture we got today.
I actually forgot to take one until now, which has never happened.
Today was a chill day. I worked on a paper, went grocery shopping with Matt for our trip to Jacob Lake tomorrow, watched some TV (can you say What Not To Wear marathon?), cleaned and made dinner.
And took about 30 pictures with Matt making faces. Figures this is the only one where he smiles and I don't. I'm going to miss him a lot.
And I'm excited for our last hurrah tomorrow!

Since Matt leaves the day before the opening of the Art Ed show (that I have two pieces in), we went to see it tonight. Missy Johnson's show was also up. I took a proud picture of me standing next to my pieces, but they both looked nast. So here is a picture with me NOT in it.

Dan Barney taught us how to integrate sewing into our curriculum today in class.
We practiced sewing on paper.
Did you know that you can stretch watercolor paper over a frame and paint on it like canvas?
This has made me want to figure out that dang sewing machine again!
I will prevail!

We helped hang the Art Ed show in the HFAC today. It's on the top floor.
If you look closely, you can see Dr. Graham.
There are a ton of shows going on right now.
Lovin it.

Tammy taught us how to cut mats for our artwork today in class.
I'm not afraid to teach a class full of children, but I am scared of this mat cutter.
Maybe I'll leave precision to Tammy...
